You Failed?...Big Deal!

Alicia couldn't believe what had just happened, she spent 5 weeks preparing for this competition. How could the judges not see that she had the most sultry voice amongst
her contenders? She was downcast and depressed, she traveled all the way from Calabar to Lagos for the Nigerian Voice. She had tried to keep a cheerful face as she departed the stage, but within her?...oh she so wanted to scream and shout in rage.
Few days later, her mother found her sobbing uncontrollably in her room, and after she had succeeded in calming her down, she said, "Alicia, I want you to know that I am proud of you".

Alicia's pupils dilated as she stared in shock at her mother. She continued,"Yes,I am. You took a risk to go after your dreams and failure should be regarded as a stepping stone for greatness, as long as you try again. Even if the odds are against you, don't give up in standing for what you believe in and that which your heart desires"...

In the lyrics of the late Aaliyah,"If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself up and try again..."
So, I am saying to you today...yes you!...there is no limit to what you can achieve as long as you are trying. That being said, here's a toast...to making our dreams a reality.
