Who Are You?

It’s often very easy for some people to describe their personalities, the answers to who they
are; their likes and dislikes, their response to situations and occurrences in life’s journey and the direction with which they are spurred on. To others, they seem to be experiencing a Herculean task finding their bearing, finding their passion, or adjusting to what circumstances throw at them. To a few, there isn’t any such thing as instilled passion, passion is found when you work super and extra hard at whatever you do, because you want to make the best out of everything you do. A great man (Jim Rohn) once said, “When you work hard on your job, you earn a living, when you work hard on yourself, you earn a fortune.” The simple reason, being that your job may come and go, but those improvements you have made, on the quality of your personality remains with you, enriching your life in ways you never thought possible. However, before anyone can work hard on anything, there has to be some kind of mental reinforcement at intervals, constantly reminding yourself the reason you need to continually strive.

Knowing who you are, leads you to finding the purpose for what you do, and the strength of your purpose is a huge determining factor for the outcome of your endeavour.  Possessing a high level of passion, or working extra hard does not mean that you would not experience hiccups or difficulties, but it is a prerequisite for continual strive even in the face of defeat. Personally, I admire people who don’t take no for an answer, even when it seems they can’t get what they want, they devise other means. Those are the game changers, people who believe that anything is achievable because giving up is not an option.
There are certain ways people who are experiencing difficulty in finding their bearing can help themselves. Some are;
ð  Take some time to try remembering some of the vocations you enjoyed in your childhood. Chances are that you were portraying an innate gift that was left unexplored.
ð   Be in touch with your senses; in other words, try to be more aware of your surroundings and happenings around you. If you are the type that is often absent minded, you just might miss out on a trigger to finding answers.
ð   Be open to ideas and technological advancements, if you are immune to change and some of the positive effects it brings, you aren’t giving yourself much of a chance.
ð   Understand that it is okay to feel confused at certain stages of life, don’t be too hard on yourself and just breathe, it’s a phase that would pass, do what you can, when you can and soon enough you would wonder why you were worried in the first place.
